A Master Gardener’s Father’s Day Message

Just a reminder, Father’s Day is June 21. Now, I have no dog in this fight (my own father having died years ago), but I have spent a career outside in all sorts of weather working with (mostly) good ole boys. And I am sure of this: we like GREAT tools, especially power tools like tractors and chain saws and power blowers and string trimmers (NOT the electric ones) and gasoline powered hedge shears. If it makes a godawful racket and smells like gasoline, we love it. Don’t give us a plastic leaf rake when we can handle a power vacuum/blower. And please, if you are going to let us help in the garden, just once, let us PLANT something that blooms in our favorite color, RED!
