Make Good Use of Bamboo

So many easy gardening projects start with bamboo. From plant stakes and trellises, fencing to screens, this much maligned garden thug remains a valued resource to gardeners worldwide. Bamboo varieties vary in diameter from the size of your little finger to that of your forearm. Bamboo is cheap, strong, and natural. Unfortunately, it is also aggressive, invasive and resilient growing in the garden.

I have never been refused when I ask my friends for access to their bamboo patch. And I make good use of their bamboo, but would never dream of growing it myself. I prefer to cultivate a friendship. You can bring home a lot of beautiful bamboo stakes by trading a bottle of wine for cutting privileges.
