You need to go to the Botanical Gardens plant sale. It is located in a big tent behind Macy’s in Brookwood Village. I went to the preview party, and wow are there lots of goodies. Without a doubt, just the array of pepper and tomato plants will delight anyone who wants to grow a pepper or a tomato selection not available any where else in Birmingham. Of course, they have the common types, too. I think just about every group of plants is represented at this sale; annuals, perennials, native plants, bonsai, ferns, wild flowers, Birmingham Heritage Camellias, blueberries, orchids, roses, etc. I was impressed tonight not only with the plants but the volunteers helping folks make good decisions. It is the perfect weekend for planting, and I plan on making the most of it. So, go and support the Gardens and get some great plants.
P.S.- I was at Lowe’s today, and all their Sta-Green products were 20% off if you need some potting soil.
